Online Auction Pottery Piece Quentin Harris

March 1, 2024

Last Sunday, The Circle Education held its first-ever Souper Bowl fundraiser event, supported by Julie MacKinnon’s Hey Julie School of Clay (eat soup, have fun, keep the bowl).

We have one last special piece of pottery left that will be auctioned off through the Gulf Islands Student FUN-draising Community Group (https://www.facebook.com/groups/gissgrad).

This plate (8.5 inches in diameter) is decorated by local Indigenous Artist Quentin Harris and thrown by his wife Ann Marie. This is Quentin’s first-ever artwork on clay.

To the First Nation cultures of the Northwest coast, the salmon is a symbol of perseverance, self-sacrifice, regeneration and prosperity.

Do you want to own an original and unique piece of art and support a great cause? This mini-online auction will close on Saturday March 2nd at 6 pm. Pick-up will be at The Circle Education on 100-125B Rainbow Road, or can be shipped (shipping costs are extra).

The proceeds go to The Circle Education’s Pass it On Boys program. Pass it On is an after-school cross-peer group mentorship program (Grades 8-12), that supports self-awareness and healthy relationships by creating a trusted space for sharing, learning, and practicing important life skills.

The starting bid $80.

Increments $5

The auction closes at 6pm on Saturday. Head over to Gulf Islands Student FUN-draising Community Group to put in your bid.
