Support Rural Girls to Build Healthy Self-Identity

May 16, 2023

Our executive director, Janine, was privileged to be able to offer mentorship to a recent group of Child and Youth Care students at UVIC as part of their applied research seminar (CYC 558) with Professor Farah Mawani.  The purpose was to learn about how to develop and maintain community-academic research partnerships.

Using Pass It On Girls, our afterschool program for girls in high school, as a case study, this infographic was the team’s final project, along with a valuable literature review and potential survey instrument.

This infographic was created as a tool to demonstrate how a mentorship-based program such as Pass It On Girls, can support rural girls to build healthy identities.

The Circle Education loves to engage in supportive relationships with other community agencies and institutions with the goal of sharing resources and insights and maximizing effect.  If you have ideas for partnerships that align with our mission, please let us know!
