Hi Jacqui, Yes if you are able to use the image from our website for your project, we are not opposed. It is not our image so we can't provide permission per se, so I will leave that to you to ensure proper credentials. Thanks for your interest in our work.

Hi, I am trying to get permission to use Sam Nzima's photograph as part of a painting I am planning to make about the 1976 Soweto Riots. I am a student and will studying my Masters in Painting at Wimbledon University of the Arts , London in October 2018. I know Sam Nzima died earlier this year, just as I was about to ask for his permission to use the image. I would like to use it with the correct permission and will credit Mr Nzima. This is part of my research about growing up in SA. 16 June is also my birthday and I wish to start my story on this day. As I am a student, please could I use this image for free. It will be part of a bigger painting I intend to layer. Please let me know if you are able to help me with this query, Kind regards, Jacqui Chapman

How nice of Peter to have passed your words on to me! Shaving female heads has always seemed a bit "out there" even when done to honour an individual suffering from cancer--but still, what a unique (and brave) thing to do! And the lessons learned...wow!
i so appreciated your courage in your actions and your wisdom in understanding how they impacted your lives. The only surprising thing was that you mentioned kumi lacked self-confidence...I remember only that all your children seemed quite the opposite! In particular I recall how she was eager to show us some of her gymnastics moves, and then performed them so expertly! It seems that you, as parents, have given your children all the right tools, and that is so impressive! I am in awe.
